First block of course "Couture Embroidery Basics"
Course "Couture embroidery basics". Lessons 1, 2, 3 of 6.

What themes are described:
Lesson 1. Couture embroidery techniques, needed materials and tools, indian and luneville hook.
First lesson introduces you term "couture embroidery". You will learn specifics of indian and luneville hooks, their differences, how is right to hold and work with tools of each kind.
Also I will show you main embroidery techniques that are used in work, how is right to switch needles in the hook, where you can find ideas for pattern creating and many others. This is an introductory lesson, and there are so many interesting things already!

Lesson 2. Fabric bases for embroidery, how to set right tension of fabric, methods of pattern marking.
Central theme of second lesson are popular bases for embroidering. I will tell you about specification of each type of fabric, nuances of working with it. Also I'll show how to provide perfect drum tension of a base using hoops and embroidery frame, share with you more than a dozen ways of making markings on the fabric.

Lesson 3. All about threads. Chain stitch, methods how to fasten the thread on fabric, tambour satin stitch, gradient, zig zack seam, spider web seam + 1 scheme for embroidering.
In the third lesson you will study types of threads used in couture embroidery. But most importantly: the practical part is devoted to working out the chain stitch. You will learn how to perform a basic chain stitch, fix the thread, embroider with "zigzag" and "cobweb" techniques, simple and combined tambour satin stitch, including "gradient". And you will also see how the direction of stitching affects the texture of the embroidered surface.
Also you will embroider your first scheme in this course - "Golden Feather".
